The article considers the main problems and shortcomings of the current system of health care in Ukraine, the main advantages, disadvantages and risks of change, the basic problems standing in the way of introducing the system of compulsory medical insurancein Ukraine. It proposes priority tools to enhance the functioning of the health system in Ukraine.
