Standarde europene de protecție socială Articolul abordează standardele europene de protecție socială din perspectiva existenței mai multor modele de sisteme naționale de protecție socială pe teritoriul Uniunii Europei și necesitatea elaborării unor principii generale pentru toate țările europene în vederea asigurării bunăstării cetățenilor. Astfel, la baza elaborării acelor standarde a fost respectat echilibrul dintre interesele societății în general și drepturile individului, luând în considerare dezvoltarea economică și nivelurile de protecție socială. Drept urmare, a fost creat modelul social european care oferă un nivel ridicat al protecției sociale și acoperă activitățile vitale pentru coeziunea socială, fiind structurat printr-o serie de norme juridice.
